ASL Itself!
With Charles L. Harper
For ITP Students...
Looking for new information about Deaf Culture and American Sign
Language (ASL) other than you may have learned from your Interpreters
Training Program (ITP) courses?  Since you are now a ITP student or a
"new" signer, and are probably working toward to be an interpreter or as
a professional to work with Deaf individuals.  Are you sure about this
field?  Do you know your own boundary?  Are you ready?

Yes, you would probably be ready...but everything is always depending
on each factor of each individual from his/her skills to attitudes.  Nobody
could jump into this field to work with Deaf community without any
knowledge, skill, and patient about Deaf culture and its language.

Don't afraid to participate a special two-hour or a special four-hours
workshop, especially for ITP students, in your ITP classroom or at a special
location!

Formerly, "ASL Itself” workshops were only for experienced interpreters
but..."Ooops, what's about you?"  One day, you would be working as a
professional for the Deaf community.  Good news, the "ASL Itself"
workshop has already provided an excellent observational curriculum and
structured learning opportunities for ITP students!

Since this workshop is incorporated for ITP students, there are two
different workshops.  The one two-hour workshop will be covered the
basic information from the 6-hour workshop for the advanced interpreters.
The four-hour workshop will be provided each participant to gain their
skills in facial expression, use of language, and self esteem by practicing
the  storytelling or/and drama versions.
Being a fourth generation of Deaf Family, the appropriateness of using facial expression is one of my essential keys for
American Sign Language.  Don't worry if you do or don't have this skills.  Remember, this is a workshop for ITP
students where each student will have opportunities to  do the "hands-on" practice with me by incorporating and
demonstrating specific grammar structure and rules.  The open-discussion with questionnaires and two-hour or/and
four hour ACET credits will be also available for this special workshop.

Hope to see you one day at your ITP class or at a special location, so I could bring what I've learned to every part of
this special two-hour or/and four-hour workshops.

Note:  If you're a chairperson or an instructor for Interpreters Training (Technician) Program, please contact me
directly to discuss any further questions about this special workshops for your ITP students.
